Anthony Dale Torcato (born October 25, 1979 in Woodland, California) is a professional baseball player. At the young age of 14, Torcato was an amateur boxer, winning the 1994 California Golden Gloves boxing championship, and continued to box until the age of 16 before turning to baseball full time.
Tony was drafted in the 1st round (19th overall) of the 1998 Major League Baseball Draft by the San Francisco Giants. He was called up by the Giants on July 26, 2002. He had spent his entire career until 2006 with the Giants. Torcato played from 2002-2005 in the big leagues with them. After the 2005 MLB season, Torcato had a .298 career batting average in 43 games.
